Servant Leadership & Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence (EQ) refers to a person’s ability to identify and manage one’s own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. EQ is key to being a strong servant leader. This training offers a framework for understanding EQ and servant leadership, key leadership skills, as well as a self-assessment to learn your own strengths and weaknesses related to EQ. All in-person participants will receive a copy of the book Emotional Intelligence 2.0 by Travis Bradberry and ‎Jean Greaves.

Conflict Resolution & De-escalation Skills

Thursday, May 5 • 9:30-11:00am
In-Person:  62 Village Street, East Hartford

The ability to resolve conflict in healthy ways is an essential skill for any relationship. This training will use the Peacemakers Ministries curriculum to provide techniques that can be used in ministry, work, and family settings when conflict arises. It will also offer practical strategies to reduce tension and de-escalate crises. Without these tools, people can unintentionally harm relationships and miss opportunities for reconciliation.  All in-person participants will receive a copy of the book The Peacemaker: A Biblical Guide to Resolving Personal Conflict by Ken Sande.

Community Outreach Day

Join us for a fun evening of preparing thousands of resource bags for UA’s community outreach! Come ready to pack and UA will provide the food, music, and materials. By volunteering at the Packing Party, you’ll help UA’s partner programs share valuable information about local community resources that can assist individuals and families in meeting their basic needs. Space is limited, so do not wait to sign up!

Using Surveys to Understand and Celebrate Impact

Surveys are powerful tools that help ministries document and share about impact. This training will offer practical tips for designing a survey, picking the right questions, as well as strategies for analyzing and sharing results. All in-person participants will be provided with sample surveys as well as the opportunity to receive technical assistance to support a survey collection project.
