Last month, nine program leaders from six churches and organizations gathered at Urban Alliance for part two of the Financial Literacy Workshop Facilitator Training, where they were equipped to facilitate 11 financial literacy workshops for the people they serve. The training was prepared and presented by staff from the Connecticut Association for Human Services (CAHS) and participants received certificates for completing the training.

Programs represented at the trainings are also able to request printed copies of handouts for any of the workshops and may apply for grant funding to offer a workshop.

And, 18 people from 13 churches and organizations participated in the Charis Lay Care and Counseling Training, “A Counseling Model for People in Ministry With Michael Ferris” on May 23.

Michael Ferris, founder of the evangelic ministry “A Journey to the Potter’s House,” provided training on a practical counseling model for people in ministry, basic counseling skills, session structure and progress, and goal setting for pastors, lay care ministers and small group leaders.
