Always be listening and watching for how God wants to use you. These are some of the guiding words that Bill Lindberg, Area Senior Vice President for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., leans on in his day-to-day. They, along with his trust for Urban Alliance that was formed from having worked with Dave Brooker, UA’s President and CEO, have been the driving force behind him becoming a UAGive Champion and a true ambassador for effecting positive change in our local community.

“In working with Dave before, I know what a heart for God he has and what an impact he and the organization are making,” shared Lindberg. “It’s the trust of the folks at Urban Alliance that lets me know my gift makes an impact. This work is a mission field and I am blessed to be a small part of it.”

“Bill was invited to participate in UA’s first annual #UAGivingTuesday fundraiser, which launched our individual giving program, UAGive, in 2015,” explained Jaleith Gary, Urban Alliance’s Director of Philanthropy.

From there, his annual contributions have helped change lives.

“A donor, like Bill, can be the difference between a young person being told about community services that could possibly help them and that same person being referred to complementary services by an adult they trust, followed by utilizing those services to help achieve their goals and develop the character, relationships and skills they need to be successful in school and in their community,” explained Gary.

Lindberg also appreciates any opportunity he gets to see UA’s impact in action, like when school supply bags are filled in order to be distributed to students at local under-resourced schools.

“It visually reinforces what is really happening,” he said.

And, in addition to helping Lindberg steward resources in a strategic and meaningful way that brings about significant community transformation, Urban Alliance has enjoyed getting to know what motivates him to get involved.

“I’ve enjoyed getting to know Bill,” shared Gary. “His heart is so big and he sincerely cares for the people we work to serve. I most appreciate his willingness to help in any way he can, with such joy and humility for the Lord’s work.”

In fact, as a key UAGive Better Together campaign member, Lindberg has hit the ground running in an effort to invite people to make a difference in our community.

“I’m looking forward to working with him to help people find their place in our model of collective impact,” explained Gary.

Lindberg insists that the key is to just get started as a UAGive donor. “Get in small if needed, but get in and watch the magic happen,” he said. “God will show you amazing things if you get involved and keep your ears and eyes focused.”
