How well do the children and youth you serve know each other? Does everyone feel like they belong? How well do they work together? On Thursday, February 13, 31 individuals representing 22 child and youth programs from 18 churches/organizations participated in the Generation Now! learning community meeting. These were some of the questions we encouraged program leaders to ask themselves when engaging children and youth during their programming. During the meeting, ministry leaders learned about the benefits of using ice breakers to help build new relationships, create an opportunity for people to work together and have fun and positive interactions, and were provided a starter toolkit with over 40 ice breaker ideas to help implement this practice in their program.
A Hartford area youth worker who attended said, "The workshop was fun, engaging and very beneficial. I already started using the toolkit and the youth love it!"
