Romans 10: 12-14 states that, “…the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, ’Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?” Special Touch Ministry has made it their mission to respond to this question by helping those with special needs hear the good news of Jesus Christ, read Bible stories, and explore their faith. Although the truth of God’s Word never changes, the method used to share the gospel can be adapted to better communicate with different groups of people. Special Touch Ministry is doing exactly this with the support of a Christian witness grant from Urban Alliance.

To create community among those they serve, Special Touch hosts regular outreach events that incorporate fun and engaging activities, Bible lessons, and prayer. With their grant funds from UA, Special Touch has purchased adventure Bibles, Bible story DVDs, large print Bibles for kids, and other resources to gift to the families they serve and help the Bible come to life for individuals with special needs. In addition to meeting spiritual needs, ministry leaders also distribute essential supplies made available through World Vision’s Essential Supplies Program to help meet the practical needs of families, too.

By providing a range of support, from grants and supplies to training and volunteers, UA is connecting programs and ministries like Special Touch to resources that help expand their capacity to serve people, meet needs, and share the love of Christ in the community. You can be a part of this important work by donating to UA today! Truly, we are better together.
