Mission

Hartford City Mission’s (HCM) mission is to be partnering with churches, the body of Christ, to transform our community in North Hartford through sharing the Good News and his Kingdom, developing disciples who are fully devoted followers of Christ and connecting Christians from a variety of geographic, economic or racial backgrounds.

Partner Programs

Noah After School

Noah After School is a free after-school program for children in grades 1-5 that is offered Monday – Friday, 4:00 – 6:00pm from mid-September to Memorial Day. HCM operates 3 locations in Hartford: Ebenezer Temple on Main Street, Glory Chapel on Greenfield Street, and Antioch Baptist Church on Nelson Street. The program consists of homework time, team building activity time, and a Bible-based character development lesson. Each student is paired with a consistent volunteer mentor/tutor. Healthy snacks are provided each day.

Camp Noah

Camp Noah is a free, fun, Christ-centered half-day camp for kids in the North End of Hartford that meets for seven weeks during the summer. The camp is for kids who have completed first grade through fifth grade. Kids who participate in Camp Noah play games, make crafts, sing songs, learn about the Bible, go on field trips, go swimming and more.

Nehemiah After School

The daily Nehemiah After School program provides youth in grades 6-8 homework assistance, Christian character development, and teaches the power within each child by connecting them to their historical greatness and providing strategies for overcoming life’s challenges. Nehemiah After School is offered at HCM’s Vine Street location, Monday – Friday, 4:00 – 6:00pm, from mid-September to Memorial Day.

Young Life

Young Life provides school counseling services, Christian character development, and training through community initiatives and small business incubators for youth in grades 9-12. Students also learn about the social, political, and economic structures that must be overcome to advance the community and society as a whole. Young Life meets on Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 9:00pm at North Hartford Salvation Army, 100 Nelson Street in Hartford.
