It all started with two life-changing experiences. After high-schooler Thomas Hoong suffered from a knee dislocation and lost a family member to a terminal illness all within a year, he was motivated make a difference.
When we look around our Greater Hartford community, it’s not hard to recognize that many people are facing immense needs and struggles, including broken relationships and families, poverty, educational and health disparities, addiction, homelessness, hopelessness, and many other challenges, just to name a few.
Thank You for Getting Stuffed for Good! It may have been rainy, cloudy for most of the day, but that didn’t stop more than 80 of you from coming out to our third annual "Get Stuffed for Good" at Blue Plate Kitchen! It was encouraging to see familiar faces and make new friends, all while dining for a cause.
More than 300 people made their way through the immersive, interactive displays that filled the room at U-Nite. With event passports in hand, guests experienced the impact of each Urban Alliance initiative and how UA's unique approach enables local churches and ministry organizations to evaluate and enhance their program culture, community connections and core programming.
