Mission
Proclaim the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, guiding our neighbors who do not know, to accept him as redeemer and savior; encouraged to adopt a new style of life under the protection of God, with Christ as the supreme inspiration and the Bible as a rule of conduct that underlies the Christian faith.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
Mercy Ministries
The goal of the mercy ministries is to help to meet the social and physical needs of the community (especially those that attend House of Praise and Worship), with the hopes that spiritual help can be given as well. This is done through food distribution, advice and support in state assistances, providing one-time basic monetary support to families who are financially and logistically (i.e. Utilities, groceries) struggling, collection of necessary and needed items (i.e. Clothe, Medicine, shoes, Sanitary items) for countries such as: Dominican Republic, Peru, Ecuador.
Youth Ministries
The youth ministires of House of Praise and Worship are responsible for faith education programs, direction of worship services, and retreats. They do this through mentoring, monetary “adoption” of young men and women who live below the poverty level and provides them with things like school clothes and supplies, and college advisory. Youth meetings are conducted on Wednesdays from 7:30pm-9pm.
Singles and Widows/Widowers Ministries
The goal of this ministry is to create a support group for single men/women and widows/widowers through providing special events and support groups.
Annual
The Hartford Project
The mission of The Hartford Project is, "to flood Hartford with Gods love by uniting and mobilizing the greater 'Church' of Hartford through prayer, worship, discipleship, and service. Sharing the love of God through word and deed." This is done through suburban and urban youth groups coming together for a week every summer.
Toys for Tots
Every December House of Praise and Worship along with the Marines and the Sport and Medical Sciences Academy, help to collect and distribute Christimas gifts to over 200 families in the Hartford community. They strive to provide one gift per child from ages 0-17, and treats and hot chocolate while people wait. Gifts are given out at the church (184 Ledyard Street; Hartford, CT 06114) a few days before Christmas.
