The Urban Alliance Network facilitates support for and collaboration among a diverse group of churches in and around Hartford.  Our approach is cooperative and, as such, is not limited to one type of church or denomination.  Churches may be large, medium, or small, urban, suburban, culturally diverse, or ethnically similar.  Each church brings its own richness and variety but shares a genuine interest in working collaboratively.  As Network Participants, churches are united by a faith that calls them to act and equips them to serve as part of a larger spiritual community.  By joining the UA Network, your church will find opportunities to work together with others not only to meet current community needs, but also to cast vision for addressing further underlying and systemic causes that keep people in need. 

If your church is already serving under-resourced populations, we encourage you to join the Network to leverage your efforts through collaboration and increase your capacity and service levels.  Maybe your church doesn't provide direct services but would like to mobilize volunteers from your congregation or connect to ministry and service opportunities on a more consistent basis.  As an UA Network Participant, your church can become aware of, and participate in, collaborative initiatives and programs serving needs in Hartford without the additional stress on your leadership to create and implement these opportunities on your own.  Whatever your current level of service or awareness, we invite you to contact us to begin a conversation about how your church may be able to work together with others in the UA Network in mutually beneficial ways. 

We also recognize that some churches may not be able or ready to actively participate in the Urban Alliance Network at this time, for a variety of reasons.  However, you may still be enthusiastic about the larger purpose of the UA Network and the works that Participants are accomplishing in Hartford.  If this is true of your church, we invite you to still stay connected to the UA Network by leveraging your resources as an UA Network Supporter.  As an UA Network Supporter, your church can make a difference in the work thats being done by contributing financially towards specific UA Network Initiatives, which are working towards diverse sets of issues, causes, and specific populations. You can also donate toward any number of UA Network activities including Urban Alliances directed grant-making, research, or Support Programs for UA Network Participants.
